TIME PROBLEM

Greer and Heath went for a tramp.
They left from home on Tuesday at 8.45am
It took them 42 minutes to travel to the destination
Walking 4.3km took them 1 hour and a half
They had a break of 30minutes
They then continued to walk 7km which took them 3 and 3/4 hours. Within this time they had two breaks of 5 minutes each.
What time did they arrive back home again?

  2. 8.45+42 minutes=9.27am
    9.27+1 hour=10.27
    10.27+30=10.57am

    10.57+30 minutes= 11.27 because
    30-3=27
    10.57+3=11.00
    11.00+ 27=11.27

    11.27+3 hours=1.27
    3/4=45 minutes
    1.27+45=2.12
    5x2=10
    2.12+10=2.22

This next part really tricked me. Now Greer and Heath have to travel BACK home which took 45 minutes.
    2.22+42 minutes=3.04

This explains how Greer and Heath came back home at 3.04

  4. I tink it is 3.54 because 8.45 + 42mins is 9.27 + 1 hour and a half is 10.57 + 30 mins is 11.27 + 3 hours and 45 mins is 3.12 + 42 minutes to get back is 3.54
