MAKING ICECREAM

Who would have thought we would make ice cream in Science this week! Yummm!

Ingredients
Method
one big bag and one small bag
1kg ice
200g salt
2L ice-cream container (in case of spills)
120ml milk
2 drops vanilla
20g sugar

Crush the ice. After ice is crushed put it into the big bag.
Add the 200g of salt to the ice seal the bag and put the bag into the ice cream container.
Take your small bag and put the milk into the bag.
Add your sugar to the milk.
Add the two drops of vanilla to the milk.
Then put the small bag into the big bag seal both bags and shake the bag for ten minutes.

Explanation:  The salt in the ice (in the large bag) lowered the freezing temperature (0 degrees Celsius) which makes it so it is harder for the ice-cream to melt. When you shake the bags it is slowly thickening the ingredients into ice cream. When it is thick enough it is called ice cream because it is frozen cream.
